Amidst the stench of melancholy,
A search for the scent of happiness,
Amidst the cacophony of cerebral chaos,
A search for the sound of heartbeats
Amidst the cries of agony,
A search for a soothing silence,
Amidst a crowd of strangers,
A search for that special friend
Amidst the dust that never settles,
A search for a clear vision,
Amidst an endless, Kafkaesque nightmare,
A search for an unfinished dream
Amidst the smoke that never clears,
A search for the fire that started it,
Amidst an unending, unforgiving life,
